I built my raku kiln in the summer of 2009. My raku work consists of a range of both ‘naked’ and glazed raku vessels. Inspiration comes from landscapes of the tea plantations of Munnar, Kerala, architecture of Northern & central Thailand, and more recently from an interest in the surfaces of the planets in our solar system. Photography from the International Space Station has influenced my latest work. Forms are wheel thrown & coated with terra sigillata slips, some are then burnished, some glazed.
