Description
My courses are held at Anglia Clay Supplies Classroom at Alby Crafts NR11 7QE.
Classes are mixed ability – so everyone is welcome, whether you’re a complete beginner, intermediate or an ‘old hand’ at pottery.
Courses consist of group demonstrations & individual 1-2-1 tuition covering hand building, throwing, glazing & decorating techniques– so it’s up to you if you’d like to follow what I’ll be teaching each week, or if you prefer, you can work independently on your own projects with 1-2-1 guidance. Or, of course, a mixture of both.
The classroom accommodates 6 students comfortably with 4 pottery wheels, a slab roller, tables for hand building, press-moulds, tools, a good selection of slips & glazes & 3 types of clay.
There is an additional charge of £5.00 per kg for fired work.
Alby Crafts has free parking & a café.
Please bring an apron / wear old clothes & a hand towel. If bringing your own refreshments please bring a lidded cup. I have set up a WhatsApp group for my classes – please let me know if you would like to join as it’s the easiest way for me to send information out to everyone once the class is up & running.

This is a brilliant course, great, well equipped studio space and Michelle is a wonderful instructor. This is my second block of 6 weeks and I have enjoyed every minute, learning a different technique or skill each week. With just 5 other students in each class there is plenty or space, equipment and individual support from Michelle for everyone. Added bonus is Anglia Clay Suppliers just next door for all you tools and materials. Can’t wait until the next class!

Michelle is a gifted instructor with a wealth of knowledge and experience in pottery she always helps students feel at ease. There are a range of participants from complete beginners to more advanced students and my experience of Michelle is that she manages to tailor her instruction to meet the needs of each individual.
The class size is kept small, with only 6 students per session, allowing for plenty of personal attention and guidance . The studio is well-equipped with everything you need for both hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques.
One of the highlights of these courses is the opportunity to learn alongside others. There’s a wonderful sense of community and shared passion as everyone supports and learns from one another. In addition these courses are in convenient 6-weekly blocks, which make them easy to fit with other activities and commitments .
Michelle’s pottery courses provide an excellent learning environment. I always look forward to my weekly session and can highly recommend signing up – it’s an enriching experience!
